King County veterans and their families are in for a boost, as a cool $15.9 million dollars in funding just opened up to help them connect with vital community resources. This cash influx, brought to you by the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL), is aimed at those who've served and are now navigating civilian life's hurdles. Services covered include housing and financial stability, social engagement, and much more.

In an effort to combat inequity, the funding is zeroing in on populations often left on the sidelines, including veterans of color, LGBTQ+ vets, and their families, among others. According to a post from the DCHS Blog, this approach is about getting these services to "specific veteran identities, social groups, and communities" that have historically been given the short end of the stick when it comes to getting the help they need.

Anyone looking to get in on this funding will have to act fast — applications are due come March 20, and there's up to $15,897,179 on the line. It's all about connecting veterans with organizations that can make a difference, and the cash will flow through to December 31, 2029. Got questions?
