The victim, identified as 41-year-old Otis Whiteside, was engaged in an altercation with two women when one of them drew a concealed firearm and fired, striking him. He suffered a gunshot wound to the armpit and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to details provided by the Chicago Sun-Times. Whiteside was later pronounced dead at the facility.
