A 26-year-old man, Raad Almansoori, suspected in a brutal SoHo hotel murder has been arrested, police sources disclosed. Almansoori, linked to a gruesome scene at the SoHo 54 Hotel where 38-year-old Denisse Oleas-Arancibia was found slain, boasts an extensive rap sheet with crimes that span across New York, Florida, Arizona, and Texas, the NYPD reports.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the suspect was nabbed after they traced his credit card from the scene of the crime in New York, all the way to Arizona. With a past marred by attacks on women, some of whom were escorts, Almansoori's history portrays a disturbing pattern. In a prior situation, in 2023, he allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman in Sumter County, Florida, only to be released after posting bail, officials said.
The discovery of Oleas-Arancibia's body inside the SoHo hotel on Watts Street was first reported on the morning of Thursday. FOX 5 New York noted that the woman was found unconscious and later pronounced dead by EMS, sparking an immediate investigation by authorities. Upon examination, a bloody iron and bits of plastic embedded in her skull indicated the violent nature of her death, leading the NYC medical examiner to declare the death a homicide.
Further inquiry led to Almansoori's arrest on Monday, and he now faces multiple charges, including assault and robbery, in connection to the stabbings. The NYPD has since broadcasted an alert to law enforcement nationwide to probe Almansoori's potential connection to more crimes, an effort that is seeing collaboration with the FBI.
As the case unfolds, the NYPD continues to unravel the full extent of Almansoori's alleged interstate crime spree. Meanwhile, communities impacted by his trail of violence are left seeking justice and healing in the wake of a suspect's arrest that has stirred both relief and renewed grief.
