A two-year-old girl is now in stable condition after Phoenix firefighters pulled her from a backyard swimming pool on Thursday evening. The incident unfolded near 27th Avenue and Baseline Road, where emergency responders arrived at approximately 6 p.m. to find the toddler lifeless and not breathing. Immediate lifesaving treatment was administered before she was rushed to the hospital in what was described as "extremely critical condition", according to AZFamily.

The following day, authorities reported that the child's condition had stabilized, however the circumstances leading up to the near-drowning remain unclear. It has yet to be determined who discovered the girl, or precisely how she managed to get inside the pool. Officials have not disclosed the length of time the girl was submerged before being found. No arrests have been connected to the incident, as of yet, Phoenix police are investigating the matter.

Earlier reports from FOX 10 Phoenix noted that CPR was performed before firefighters arrived. The Phoenix Fire Department has also confirmed that their Community Assistance Program was dispatched to provide support to the family during this distressing event. "The Community Assistance Program is responding to the scene to assist the family with their needs," they stated.
