
A fatal stabbing has claimed the life of a Portland man in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood, authorities have confirmed. Ladarius Davis, 43, was identified by officials as the victim of the homicide. The family of Davis, who was found dead in a grocery store parking lot in the early hours of February 11, is currently mourning their loss in private, yet they released a photo of him to the public.
According to Portland Police, the incident occurred at around 1:23 a.m. on the 3500 block of Southeast 122nd Avenue. On arrival, first responders discovered Davis and, shortly after, declared him deceased at the scene, the cause of death a result of stabbing as determined by the Medical Examiner. While the suspect or suspects had fled before the arrival of the police, the Portland Police Homicide Unit is currently leading the investigation. Despite the tragedy, no streets were closed significantly, affecting the neighborhood routine.
As of now, the authorities have not released any information regarding the suspects involved in the stabbing. The Portland Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist with their ongoing investigation.
