A suspect has been nabbed in connection with a fatal shooting in West Park last month, but cops are still on the hunt for another. Darrell Gerald Rose, 29, was taken into custody on January 31st and is facing charges of manslaughter and strong-arm robbery for the murder of 23-year-old Serdjy Hyppolite, as per the Local10.

Authorities responded to the shooting pre-dawn, January 7th, after reports of gunfire at 2496 SW 57th Avenue in Broward County's West Park, according to statements obtained by CBS Miami, on arrival they found Hyppolite, later pronounced dead from his injuries after being transported to the hospital. Following surveillance video release to public on January 17th which showed the suspects, tips rolled in leading to Rose's arrest.

Rose's capture came after a concerted effort by BSO detectives and the community, who pieced together leads from the surveillance imagery showing two individuals, one still at large, blocking in and assaulting the victim prior to the shooting; Rose now behind bars at the BSO Main Jail awaits due process.

With Rose apprehended, detectives vigorously continue their search for the second perp involved in the crime spree, BSO spokeswoman Claudinne Caro expressed hope that the release of the surveillance video, which was instrumental in Rose's capture would bring similar results in identifying his accomplice. Anyone with information regarding the shooting or details of the second suspect can reach out to BSO Homicide Detective Steven Novak, or anonymously drop a tip through Broward Crime Stoppers for a possible $5,000 reward, as noted by Local10.
