
Two men were injured in a drive-by shooting in Chicago's Garfield Ridge neighborhood, near Midway Airport, with one of them sustaining critical injuries. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the victims, aged 43 and 26, were attacked around 9:44 p.m. Sunday on the 5500 block of South Merrimac Avenue.
The older man suffered a graze wound to his abdomen, while the younger man was hit twice in the torso, as per the Sun-Times report. They were rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center where the 26-year-old was listed in critical condition and the 43-year-old was in good condition.
A witness at the scene described the shooter's vehicle as a black sedan that quickly drove away following the shooting. As of now, no arrests have been made. This information comes from a witness account told to FOX 32 Chicago.
Detectives from Area One are actively investigating the incident, and the Chicago Police Department has not yet provided any updates on suspects or motives behind the attack. The community is awaiting answers as gun violence continues to disrupt the lives of city residents.
