A tragic motorcycle crash claimed the life of a 47-year-old man on Black Mountain Road in Rancho Penasquitos. The accident, occurring in the noon hour Thursday, involved a high-speed loss of control, which led to the rider's untimely death.

The San Diego Police Department reported that the man was operating a 2023 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control along the 13500 block of Black Mountain Rd. Authorities indicate that the incident was a single-vehicle collision. The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators from the SDPD Traffic Division have taken over the probe into the crash's cause. Meanwhile, local residents and commuters are rattled by yet another reminder of the potential perils on the road.
