Austin's streets turned grim in the early hours of a Monday morning when a hit-and-run crash left a pedestrian with serious injuries. The Austin Police Department (APD) is now on the hunt for the driver of a white, two-door pickup truck that they say struck a person in the 2900 block of East Parmer Lane on February 26, according to the Austin Police Department.
The collision occurred around 2:38 a.m., prompting a rush of first responders to the scene. The injured pedestrian, who has not been identified, was hurried to the hospital by Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, their condition was stabilized, but they remain hospitalized following the traumatic event, as reported by the Austin Police Department.
The lack of available details does not conceal the vehicle's description; it's a two-door pickup, white in color, and now potentially a key piece in solving this case. APD is actively seeking tips and is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest, by way of the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program. Witnesses or anyone with relevant information can contact the Highway Investigation Tip Line at 512-974-8111 or submit their information anonymously through the aforementioned program.
