Daly City residents are on alert after the Daly City Police Department released a Crime Alert Bulletin summarizing a series of crimes that occurred last week, including robberies, vehicle burglaries, and stolen vehicles. The week of March 4-10 saw a notable spike in specific criminal activity in the community, according to the bulletin published on March 14.

Two robberies were highlighted in the report. A brazen daylight robbery occurred on March 9th where a suspect became confrontational after an employee at the Loop on the 300 block of Hickey Boulevard confronted him for hiding beer in his clothing. The suspect assaulted the employee with a ceramic bowl before fleeing the scene. "The suspect, a 31-year-old San Mateo resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery," the bulletin stated. A day later, another victim was attacked and had her purse stolen, but the perpetrator remains at large.

While the homes and businesses of Daly City residents appeared to remain untouched by burglars during this period, motorists weren't as fortunate. The police report detailed two instances of vehicle burglary involving the theft of a range of items, from a FasTrak device and medication to a PlayStation 5 game console. One incident took place in a parking lot of Skyline Plaza, and the other occurred on the unit block of Wellington Avenue. Both cases were reported online to the authorities.

Elsewhere on Daly City's streets, six stolen vehicles and one attempted theft added to the community's woes. The stolen vehicles included luxury cars and an older model van. While three of the six stolen vehicles were recovered – thanks to efforts by Oakland PD and CHP-Oakland – the owners of the remaining cars are left to deal with the aftermath of the thefts. A 2005 GMC Yukon also narrowly escaped being stolen on the unit block of Oceanside Drive.

In addition to the highlighted crimes, the Daly City Police Department's bulletin also gave account for 10 domestic disturbance cases, a psychiatric hold, and 10 vandalism incidents, coupled with various other infractions over the week. The police are urging anyone with information on these crimes to come forward as the investigations continue.
