A Dartmouth teen faces charges after police say he was caught with a stash of purloined goods, pinched from a construction site. In what was described as a daylight heist, law enforcement zeroed in on Chad Rainville, 18, cuffing him Saturday following a probe that sunk deep into the nuts and bolts of the alleged pilfering.

Officers were first clued in to the shenanigans about 1 p.m. that Saturday when they cooked up a search at Rainville's Cross Road digs, according to a Facebook post shared by the Dartmouth Police Department. The search, part of an investigation led by Officer Caden Kehoe, turned up a trove of reportedly stolen tools and other items in a rented U-Haul van linked with the suspect.

This find led to Rainville being slapped with charges for receiving stolen property and conspiracy. Details were scant, but the Dartmouth Police spilled that an alleged underage accomplice was also roped into the case. Following questioning, the 15-year-old was dished back to his parents' care – free for the moment, but thick into the soup nonetheless.

The police account of the arrest and recovery of the supposed hot goods hit the social streams on March 17. Authorities haven't yet aired the full spread of what was ripped off or the value of the loot. Meanwhile, the Dartmouth Police are staying buttoned up about whether they think more raids are in the offing or if Rainville and his unnamed juvenile mate are thought to be part of a a larger ring of thieves.
