The 31-year-old, later identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as David Villarreal-Zapata, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. The second victim, who caught bullets to the face and chest, is fighting for his life in Stroger Hospital.
The gunman remains at large following the shooting, with police canvassing the area for leads on the whereabouts of the suspect or suspects who managed to quickly flee the crime scene in their SUV.
