Detroit residents can expect a mixed bag of weather conditions this week as the forecast predicts everything from partly sunny skies to chances of showers, and even a breezy Sunday to round off the week. As reported by the National Weather Service, today there will be partly sunny skies with highs near 69 degrees, accompanied by gusty south winds between 8 to 25 mph.
By tonight, the weather is set to shift, introducing a 40 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m. The low is predicted to drop around 53 degrees, maintaining that south wind which could see gusts upwards of 21 mph. The change is coming, though we have some decent wind speeds to deal with before the rain hits. In preparation for tomorrow, umbrellas might be a necessity as forecasters anticipate showers with a high near 61 and a shift towards a north wind in the afternoon. Again, possible strong gusts up to 20 mph are expected. The chance of precipitation stands strong at 80 percent, with new rainfall potentially reaching up to half an inch according to National Weather Service predictions.
While tomorrow night might bring additional showers before 1 a.m., Wednesday promises mostly cloudy skies with a modest high near 50 and north winds reaching 25 mph at their peak. Temperatures at night are slated to fall to around 36 degrees.
The latter half of the week doesn't offer much relief from the clouds, as Thursday is expected to be partly sunny with highs again near the 50-degree mark and a nighttime low of around 35, and then on Friday, the chance of showers creeps back into the forecast post-1 p.m. escalating to "showers likely" by nighttime, while cloud coverage remains a constant companion throughout. The weekend continues the trend with likely showers and cloudy skies maintaining a steady presence, the highs temperate, hovering near 51 degrees before dropping to around 35 at night, the week seems to be washing out with showers but with that comes the nourishment for spring growth as we march towards the equinox," added the forecast by the National Weather Service.
