A horrific scene unfolded in a Doral apartment last week when a man allegedly murdered his girlfriend by stabbing her multiple times. The brutal incident took place at their residence located at 2520 NW 84th Ave. Police were called to the scene shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday upon reports of a domestic dispute, according to Local 10 News.
Authorities arriving at the grim scene found 57-year-old Juan Ernesto Nunez with blood-soaked hands and wearing a blood-stained shirt. Nunez then directed officers to the apartment where they discovered his girlfriend lying lifeless on the floor with multiple stab wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel confirmed her demise upon arrival, per details in the arrest report.
Detectives at the scene gathered that the couple had been living alone in the apartment and were in a relationship for roughly seven years. The murder weapon, a kitchen knife smeared with blood, was recovered from the kitchen countertop. The accused was found to have minor cuts and scratch marks on his body, indicative of a struggle.
Local police indicated that it was Nunez who initially reported the altercation by calling 911.
