A Florida man's spree of car burglaries at a Clarksville park has led to his arrest. Derrick Devon McKenzie, a 28-year-old resident of Florida, was identified as the suspect behind the break-ins at Heritage Park, as reported by WKRN.
Clarksville Police Department had appealed to the public on Monday, March 25, to assist in identifying a man caught on camera burglarizing several vehicles. Following the investigation, McKenzie was pinpointed as the assailant. His capture occurred as he was about to board a Florida-bound plane at the Nashville Airport, leading to his subsequent incarceration in the Montgomery County Jail, according to WKRN.
McKenzie is facing two counts of vehicle burglary, as mentioned in his charges, with a bond set at $50,000. The arrest was facilitated by the Nashville Airport Police, who spotted and detained him before he could depart, as per WSMV.
