Hayes Burger has managed to quickly to become a community favorite, combining a no-frills approach to its food with an unwavering commitment to quality. In a statement obtained by San Diego Magazine, the menu has been compared to that of In-N-Out, albeit with distinct differences that set it apart from the fast-food titan. Crisp lettuce and well-seasoned meat, all wrapped in a soft brioche bun, showcase the simplicity at the heart of their success.
The new venue, as reported by Eater San Diego, maintains the streamlined menu that has fueled the burger shop's rise. Enthusiasts of the original location's offerings won't be disappointed, with favorites like the signature spicy Jimi (Hendrix) fries remaining a staple feature.
Jose Honold, co-owner of Hayes Burger, is no stranger to the burger scene, having cut his teeth grilling up patties at his grandfather’s restaurant. He and his partners felt called to expand, Honold told Eater San Diego, revealing, "We had been casually looking for a second location because we were ready to expand. As soon as we heard about this spot on Adams, we didn’t hesitate. We love the neighborhood. It’s a perfect fit for us." The team is already eyeing further expansion when the time is right, continuing their mission to bring their burger ethos to more San Diegans.
In the pursuit of a welcoming atmosphere, the new Normal Heights location proudly features art by local San Diego and Tijuana artists.
