Police in Hialeah are on the lookout for a 78-year-old man, Indalecio Puente, who vanished after embarking on his routine morning walk. According to law enforcement officials, Puente, described as a gray-haired, brown-eyed man of 5 feet 6 inches and weighing 160 pounds, was last seen wearing a white tank top, black pants, and black shoes. The search commenced when he did not return to the home where he had been babysitting his grandson.

A family member had left Puente in charge of the child at a residence in the 2700 block of West 55th Street around 7:30 a.m. Monday, Local 10 News reported. Puente was known to take daily strolls, and it was during one such outing, while the young boy slept, that he went missing. The family alerted police when they discovered Puente absent upon returning to the residence at roughly 5:30 p.m.

The Hialeah Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the public to help locate Puente. They have distributed a description of him and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Concern grows as time progresses without a trace of the elderly man's whereabouts.

An urgent plea for the public's help was echoed by the Hialeah Police, "Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Hialeah Police Department at 305-687-2525," according to WSVN.
