A manhunt in the suburbs of Houston ended with a wanted felon behind bars, according to local law enforcement. The chase commenced on March 23 when deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office identified Jason Tate — who was known to have an outstanding felony warrant — in the vicinity of the 4600 block of Roserock Lane. Reports indicate that upon being approached by the officers, Tate made a break for it, darting into the thick of nearby woods, in an attempt to once again evade capture.
The response was swift, a tactical perimeter established to prevent any further escape. Deputies set to work with the aid of a canine unit from the Constable's office. The well-coordinated effort soon resulted in Tate's capture. According to the official Precinct 4 Facebook page, the burglary suspect was found and apprehended with assistance from the Constable Canine.
After being taken into custody, Tate's felony warrant was confirmed for burglary of a building, thus adding to his legal woes. The Harris County Jail became his subsequent holding ground as he faced the additional charge of evading arrest, for which he evidently proved unsuccessful in the end.
"Jason Tate was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrant and charged with Evading Arrest. His bond was set at $10,100.00 out of County Court 1," Constable Mark Herman announced following the apprehension. It is yet to be seen how Tate will to plead in response to these charges brought against him.
