
A fatal altercation shook up the 82nd Avenue Transit Station Friday night, as one man was left dead following a stabbing incident on a MAX train, authorities confirmed.
Portland Police from the East Precinct rushed to the hectic scene after receiving a distress call at around 6:04 p.m., upon their arrival they found the victim, whose life had been cruelly cut short the suspect was also apprehended at the location, as reported on the official Portland Police Bureau's website.
The investigation is in the hands of the Homicide Detail and the Forensic Evidence Division, whose detectives and criminalists are tirelessly combing the area for evidence, interviewing potential witnesses to piece together the grim puzzle of this public tragedy, the MAX train service has announced disruptions due to the ongoing inquiry.
According to details gleaned from the police, the violent incident broke out on an eastbound MAX train the name of the victim will be disclosed following the notification of next of kin, meanwhile details about the suspect will emerge once official charges are pressed and the booking process at the Multnomah County Detention Center completes.
