A Medford man took a walk on the wild side and now he's facing the music for alleged animal cruelty. Frederick Ingrando, 33, was collared by cops Thursday after witnesses claim to have seen him lose his cool with a canine under his care.
The disturbing incident unfolded at roughly 11 a.m. near Fellsway West and Sheridan Ave, where Ingrando was reportedly handling a pack of pooches. According to bystanders, the dog walker took a violent approach to discipline, striking one of the dogs multiple times in the head and then hoisting the poor pup in the air by its collar, according to Medford Police Department's Facebook post.
One sharp-eyed Samaritan took it upon themselves to film the alleged abuse, providing the video to the officers as proof of the man's brutish behavior. The visual evidence helped authorities to tag Ingrando as the suspect, and the dog handler was soon after apprehended at his residence.
The four-footed victims, none of which were owned by Ingrando – a hired dog-walker, were whisked away to safety. The dog that was subject to the alleged attack was transported to a local veterinarian for evaluation, his condition has yet to be barked about. Ingrando, meanwhile, was slapped with an animal cruelty charge, and he's set to have his day in court while the investigation remains, in the leash for now.
