The Bridgestone Arena in Nashville was set alight with star power when Olivia Rodrigo invited the legendary Sheryl Crow to join her on stage during her 'Guts' world tour this past Saturday. The crowd was treated to a collaborative performance of 'If It Makes You Happy', a celebrated 90s hit, as reported by Rolling Stone.

Before the performance, Rodrigo expressed her admiration for Crow to the audience, "I think she's one of the most talented, most wonderful, kindest human beings I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I've been lucky enough to sing with her a few times. And I'm even luckier to call her a friend," the young singer-songwriter said, with the duo previously teaming up in Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe and during Crow’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in November 2023. According to a Billboard report, this isn't their first rodeo together.

Sheryl Crow, the 62-year-old rock icon, has been somewhat of a mentor to the 21-year-old Rodrigo. In an interview with ET this past November, recounted by Billboard, Crow offered some wisdom: "I said, you know, 'If you can, just write down one sentence every day, of what happened during that day, because you will someday look back [at] this, and try to remember all the things,'" along with advising Rodrigo to "just stay in the work and stay out of the chatter."

Rodrigo's 'Guts' world tour is currently ongoing in North America, with the next performance scheduled in St. Louis on March 12. Crow's timeless single 'If It Makes You Happy' continues to resonate with audiences, having reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in January 1997. Rodrigo and Crow's rendition of the track at the Bridgestone Arena was captured in a fan-filmed video and shared widely, as echoed by a report from NME.
