After a wild weather washout on Saturday, the organizers of Palm Beach Pride are not letting a little rainwater drown their parade. According to WPTV, all systems are go for the event to take place Sunday, with the shindig extending an extra hour to make up for lost time.

The festivities faced a soggy setback when heavy rains led to flooding at Bryant Park, but Compass LGBTQ+ Community Center has confirmed the parade and other activities will resume as scheduled. "With the projected intense rainfall for Saturday, we did not feel we could provide the safest environment possible," a Compass spokesperson said in a statement obtained by WPTV. To compensate for Saturday's cancellation, the closing time has been bumped to 7 p.m.

Thousands from across South Florida and the Treasure Coast, who flock to this event annually for its vibrant celebration of diversity and inclusion, can look forward to the parade kicking off at 11 a.m. The route will strut its stuff from Lucerne Avenue, snake south to Lake Avenue, and wind up at the familiar stomping grounds of Bryant Park.

The party promises a profusion of live acts and entertainment, with Bryant Park serving as the epicenter from noon till the newly extended hour of 7 p.m. Palm Beach County's own Brooke Eden, on her rise as a country luminary, is slated to headline the day's performances. In a news release shared by CBS12, Compass stated, "We understand that this does not entirely make up for the lost Saturday, but we are excited to celebrate with our community for as long as we can."

Despite the hitch, tickets purchased for the original date remain valid, and additional information for any last-minute attendees is available on Compass Community Center's website. The organization reminds that safety remains a top priority, promising attendees a dazzling day of Pride under, hopefully, sunny skies. Palm Beach Pride, a staple of the county for over twenty years, vows to continue its legacy of uniting the LGBTQ+ community, rain or shine.
