
Terrifying moments were captured on camera at the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair when a ride malfunctioned with passengers on board. The incident occurred on the 1001 Nachts Amusement ride, as seen in a video shared by Only in Dade, showing the ride as it appeared to break down during operation on Sunday.
Following the incident, North American Midway Entertainment, the provider of the fair's attractions, confirmed to NBC6 that the ride experienced a mechanical issue, the ride's operator acted swiftly by initiating the emergency stop procedure which brought the ride to a stop and this was done in line with the company's established safety guidelines and protocols. According to the NBC6 report, "We can report that all guests were promptly evacuated and there were no injuries sustained."
The aftermath of the ride's breakdown was met with relief as no injuries were reported. In a statement, North American Midway Entertainment described the measures taken: "In response, the ride operator promptly initiated the emergency stop procedure, bringing the ride to a halt in accordance with established safety protocols." The company also noted that all passengers were quickly and safely evacuated from the compromised amusement.
Moving forward, the ride is slated for repairs as well as a full inspection by the State of Florida ride inspectors to ensure that it is safe for future use before it reopens to the public; this will provide an added layer of assurance following the unnerving event. "Following this incident, the ride will undergo repairs and will be subjected to thorough inspection by the State of Florida ride inspectors before resuming operations," North American Midway Entertainment relayed in their statement shared by Because Miami.
