A Robertson County home became the center of attention when law enforcement executed a search warrant on Wednesday, raising questions in a longstanding missing person's case involving Jennifer and Adrianna Wix, however Smokey Barn News reports that the family has dismissed any connection between the search and the 20-year-old cold case that has haunted the area since March 25, 2004. According to WSMV, despite the increased activity at the home on Owens Chapel Road, officials stressed that the search was unrelated to the Wix case.
In 2013, the disappearance of Jennifer and Adrianna Wix was upgraded to a homicide investigation, casting a grim shadow over the mother and daughter's fate, who haven’t been seen since Adrianna was a mere two years old. The sudden surge of police activity at the locally-known Benton property sparked rumors. It whispered hopes that answers might finally emerge. Yet, the Wix family has urged the public to remain patient as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Robertson County Sheriff's Office maintain silence on the ongoing investigation's specifics, as Smokey Barn News reported.
The residence in question belongs to Joey Benton, Jennifer Wix’s boyfriend at the time of her and her daughter's disappearance, and as Main Street Media TN reports, this marks the first time a search warrant has been issued for this particular property. "The sheriff’s office with the assistance of the TBI is executing a search warrant at a residence on Owens Chapel Road in relation to an active investigation," stated officials from the Robertson County Sheriff's Office.
Casey M Robinson of the Wix family stated in a message obtained by Smokey Barn News, "The past few days have been excruciating. Our family has confirmed with law enforcement that the executed warrant was not for Jennifer and Adrianna, we’re hopeful that this opens the right doors and does bring a search warrant specifically for our case." Further adding to the complexity of the situation, Robinson mentioned that although the family is aware of the potential reasons behind the warrant, they will refrain from sharing information that might disrupt law enforcement's efforts.
