The Gillespie County Sheriff's Office declared on Facebook that the woman, 45, managed to shoot the man who she claimed had drugged and abducted her, the incident happening on a Friday afternoon, drawing a swift law enforcement response to the scene.
The woman contacted authorities around 12:45 p.m., relaying her harrowing ordeal, and after a brief search was found near a local winery, once found she could provide a description of the vehicle and the firearm she used, as reported by FOX San Antonio. Gillespie County Sheriff's Office then located the car in question, a man dead at the wheel, he was stationed in the outside lane of westbound traffic appearing to be deceased, a stark conclusion to a sequence of terrifying events that had unfolded.
The deceased man was identified as 49-year-old Lance Damon Reid of Houston as evidence was gathered by local law enforcement, details emerging in a case that shook a usually tranquil area, as stated by Click2Houston.
