A passenger in the Charger, a 17-year-old girl from Boynton Beach, incurred minor injuries. The sheriff’s office vehicle involved in the accident was stopped at the intersection, and the driver of the sheriff's vehicle was unharmed according to a statement obtained by WPTV.

Officials pronounced De Leon dead at the scene, while the Dodge Charger driver escaped physical injury.
