A midday havoc unfolded in Medfield, Massachusetts, when an SUV and a landscaping truck collided violently, sending the two vehicles careening into a ditch near a local school. According to NBC Boston, the accident took place yesterday afternoon at the well-trodden crossways of West Street and North Meadows Road.
The aftermath of the crash was a graphic tableau of destruction—caught on the surveillance camera near the Goddard School, which bore silent witness to the chaos that unfolded on its doorstep. Tshering Gurung, the school owner working nearby, described the moment of impact to NBC Boston: "I heard, like, a huge 'thud' sound." The airbag-swaddled driver of the maroon SUV, a 60-year-old woman, had to be freed from the mangled remains of her vehicle. Gurung further added that bystanders rushed to assist before first responders arrived, "The woman in the SUV was all covered with the air bags, and bystanders were trying to help her out."
Fire officials said the woman was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries, including what is believed to be a broken hip. While the driver of the truck was reported unharmed, local authorities have yet to provide insights into the collision's genesis, though WCVB remains locked on their investigation for updates.
Medfield Police Chief Michelle Guerette confirmed the incident and the subsequent response by local emergency services. One bystander, an emergency medical technician working nearby, utilized their skills to assist the traumatized woman before the official ambulance and helicopter services arrived at the scene. Guerette detailed to WCVB that "When she came out, thankfully, she was talking. She couldn't stand, but she was talking." On the other side of the collision, the truck driver "was out of the vehicle and walking around" post-accident, Gurung added while recounting the woman's condition to the same source. The landscaping company involved, Hydroseeding by Norman, has not commented on the incident. The crash continues to prompt investigation, with no definitive cause released to public knowledge at this time,
