Starting April 12th, motorists in Casa Grande should prepare to adjust their commutes as Kortsen Road is set to shrink from four lanes down to two. This major artery of city transport will be experiencing a squeeze from Thornton Road to just west of Raintree Drive, courtesy of the Kortsen Road Sewer Relief Project. The lane reduction, slated to last until May 10, will accommodate contractors who are scheduled to trench deeply into the roadway to lay down new piping infrastructure, as reported by the City of Casa Grande.
The sewer project is not just a simple roadwork inconvenience but a larger vision to ultimately enhance the capacity for sewage management in the growing area. The project aims to seamlessly increase capacity by 9 million gallons per day to meet the area's expanding needs. Designed to stretch over roughly 4.6 miles, it's expected to run from Henness Road to the city's Water Reclamation Facility, as reported by the City of Casa Grande.
