Swansea law enforcement officials have taken a Fall River man into custody following reports of a theft at a local pharmacy, the Swansea Police Department announced. Chief Mark Foley reported the arrest of Jordan Medeiros, 42, of Fall River, who stands charged with unarmed robbery, speeding, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

The incident transpired on Monday, April 22, at the Walgreens Pharmacy located at 510 Wilbur Ave. in Swansea. Medeiros, described as a white male sporting a gray hooded sweatshirt, baseball hat, sunglasses, an N95-style mask, and tan cargo pants, allegedly made off with prescription medication. Witnesses spotted him fleeing in a tan or gray Toyota Tundra TRD pickup truck, equipped with a ladder rack and a toolbox, as reported by the Swansea Police Department.

In the days following the robbery, law enforcement officials gathered enough evidence from surveillance footage and public input to secure an arrest warrant for Medeiros. Early this morning, Swansea Police conducted a vehicle stop of the suspected Toyota Tundra and detained Medeiros without incident.

A frisk of Medeiros revealed a double-edged switchblade in his possession. Swansea Police clarified that the blade was not used in the commission of the robbery. Medeiros is scheduled for arraignment in Fall District Court on Thursday, as he awaits the legal determination of innocence or guilt.
