A man has died following a shooting incident at a Miami apartment complex in Overtown on Saturday, as Miami police continue piecing together the bloody puzzle, the victim was found with a gunshot wound late Saturday morning with local authorities rushing to the scene. According to CBS Miami, the police responded to calls around 11:54 a.m. near Northwest 4th Avenue and 8th Street where the victim's life ticked away as desperate attempts to save him unfolded.

Jennifer Sanchez, the daughter of the slain man, identified him as Eduardo Sanchez; she came upon the grisly scene of her father's demise, her grief overtaking her, this according to NBC Miami she remembered her father as a humble man with a humorous streak, a man who would give his last dollar away. Details are sparse as Miami Police remains tight-lipped while they dig into the events that led to the violence at the apartment complex where Sanchez lived.

Neighbors became impromptu witnesses; one such resident, Theresa Battle, recounted hearing several gunshots before seeing her neighbor embroiled in the throes of the aftermath "She was trying to pull him out, saying come on; they said don't move him, don't move him," Battle told NBC Miami adding that fear kept her indoors until the coast seemed clear, known to keep to himself Eduardo was a familiar figure often seen perched in his chair by his front door, it’s just a friendly "hi" and nothing more as per Battle's account.
