Gunshots rang out in Palm Beach County, leading to a grim discovery— a man's body was found following calls of firearms being discharged near West Palm Beach, as reported by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. The incident took place in the midday hustle, when the sheriff's deputies quickly responded to the scene at the 1100 block of Lake Victoria Drive, an area situated just north of Belvedere Road and west of Florida's Turnpike, according to WPTV.
The reports of gunfire were initially made just after 12 p.m., at which point the deputies located the deceased man, bringing the Palm Beach County medical examiner to the scene to carefully embark upon an investigation. The Sheriff's Office, as of the last reports, has yet to identify any suspects or motives behind what they have characterized as a homicide, as stated by spokeswoman Teri Barbera in a news release obtained by CBS12.
Local residents recounted the terrifying experience with WPTV reporter Ethan Stein, explaining that they heard close to 15 shots fired in the ordeal. The sound of gunfire in daylight has undoubtedly cast a shadow over the neighborhood, leaving community members anxious and on alert for any developments.
