The search for 14-year-old Mia Wooten of southwest Miami-Dade has come to a sigh of relief as authorities have confirmed she was found safe after being reported missing. According to WSVN, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, working in tandem with Miami-Dade Police, successfully canceled the Missing Child Alert initially issued when Wooten disappeared early Thursday morning.
Details about the teen’s temporary disappearance are sparse, Wooten was last seen around 8:20 a.m., Thursday in the 11500 Block of SW 127th Avenue, and she was described as a 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, as per details provided by CBS News Miami; she was wearing a red hoodie, black leggings, and Nike sneakers and might have been wearing glasses at the time she went missing.
The case grabbed the attention of the local community as officials stressed that Wooten might be in need of services and was considered a "missing endangered person." This prompted public appeals for assistance with Miami-Dade Police urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers, this plea likely contributed significantly to the positive outcome of her being located.
