
A motorcycle incident on South Lamar Boulevard resulted in one person being seriously injured Thursday afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County EMS. The crash occurred in the 700 block of South Lamar around 4 p.m., KXAN reports. EMS responded to the scene where the rider was reportedly thrown from the motorcycle, which also caught fire briefly before being extinguished.
The injured individual was immediately transported to Dell Seton Medical Center following a declaration of a trauma alert at the scene, and as of now, the medics have cleared the area according to an ATCEMS social media post; traffic was impacted in the aftermath of the accident, and commuters were advised to expect delays and to avoid the area if possible, although as time passed the usual flow of the city's bustling life gradually returned to its rhythm.
