Two individuals with a list of outstanding warrants were arrested following a routine traffic stop in Mt. Juliet yesterday, authorities said. The suspected offenders, a 39-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, were discovered after Mt. Juliet Police Department officers halted a vehicle for window tint violations near the Interstate 40 and Mt. Juliet Road interchange, according to a post on X from the police department.

During the stop, the man, hailing from Nashville, was found to be wanted on multiple charges. The Mt. Juliet Police detailed his rap sheet including domestic assault, vandalism, and failing to show up for court dates for serious charges such as attempted first-degree murder, felony domestic assault, driving under the influence (DUI), and cruising without a valid license. While the window tint drew the police's attention, it was the officer's diligence that brought the wanted individuals to justice.
The second individual, a 44-year-old woman, was also caught in the dragnet. She was reportedly in possession of marijuana and unprescribed pills at the time of her arrest. Her warrants, issued out of Wilson County, included failure to appear for misuse of registration charges, officials stated. The information about these warrants was shared by local media outlet WKRN.
"We are grateful for our officers who are all working hard to keep crime out of MJ," read a post by the Mt. Juliet Police, acknowledging the officers' efforts in the apprehension. The discovery of the duo with outstanding warrants appeared to be a fortuitous event, as they unwittingly drove into the hands of law enforcement in a car that flaunted its infraction to attract their apprehension with illegal tinted windows. In addition to being the subject of multiple active warrants, the 44-year-old woman now faces possible charges for the controlled substances found in her possession.
