NWS Nashville notes that showers and possibly severe thunderstorms are on the docket for Tuesday, carrying an 80% chance of precipitation, which could result in between a quarter and half an inch of new rainfall.
Tuesday night, the chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue until 10 pm, followed by a possible sprinkle between 10 pm and 1 am. According to the forecast by the NWS, Wednesday will bring a 40% chance of showers in the afternoon with a high near 56 degrees, and robust west-northwest winds that could reach 30 mph gusts.
As the week progresses, Nashville residents will experience partly cloudy skies Wednesday night with lows around 39 and winds persisting at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts potentially reaching 25 mph. Moving towards the weekend, a chill settles in, with the NWS predicting "Areas of frost after 4 am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 35. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph." on Thursday night.
Come Friday, the city will thaw somewhat with sunny skies and a high of around 60 degrees, with North northwest winds blowing gently at 10 mph. And for those early risers, keep the scrapers handy because areas of frost are expected before 8 am. The serenity continues into the weekend, with sunny conditions slated for Saturday and a comfortable peak at 64 degrees. Nashville's Sunday promises an even warmer climb, with an expected high of 72 degrees.
