An early morning robbery at a local 7 Eleven in Worcester turned into an afternoon arrest when an eagle-eyed off-duty cop spotted the suspect. The Worcester Police Department reports that their officer was on an off-duty assignment when he recognized Keith Glover, 47, from surveillance footage of the earlier crime.
At approximately 3:50 AM on April 13, a holdup alarm drew officers to the 7 Eleven on Main St, where they discovered a male had stolen money after reaching over the counter. The cashier's attempt to intervene led to a struggle before the thief managed to fleetly escape on foot and subsequently in a vehicle. Later, the diligent officer, to quickly identify the man from his morning patrol, took action without hesitation.
The department's official press release details the encounter, noting the suspect fled on foot once more when approached, but after a brief chase, was apprehended. The outcome is that Mr. Glover is now facing charges for Unarmed Robbery.
