According to the SDPD Watch Commander's Log, a 32-year-old woman was at the wheel of her 2020 Honda Pilot, driving northbound on Home Ave when the accident occurred. Approaching the Gateway Drive intersection, tragedy struck as a 52-year-old woman walking, stepped directly into the path of the oncoming vehicle.
The motorist, unable to avoid the sudden collision, struck the pedestrian, inflicting severe injuries. Emergency responders rushed her to the hospital to save her life. Despite these efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
