An urgent search is underway for an 84-year-old man who vanished from Chicago's South Side, with local authorities seeking the public's assistance. James Kimbrough, described as a Black male with grey hair and brown eyes, was last seen on April 12, 2024, in the vicinity of the 200 block of West 106th Place, as per the Chicago Police Department's report.
According to the CPD's alert, Kimbrough stands at 5 feet 6 inches and weighs approximately 130 pounds, he has a light complexion and was last spotted wearing brown and orange pants, a gray and white striped skullcap, brown gym shoes, a black T-shirt, and a black jacket; these details are crucial for anyone who might come across him to make an immediate and potentially lifesaving identification. Concerns are mounting not only because of his advanced age but also due to the inherent risks faced by seniors who go missing, are potentially exposed to elements, or in need of medical attention that cannot afford to be delayed.
Friends and relatives of Kimbrough have expressed deep concern since his disappearance, highlighting his friendly demeanor and the unusual nature of his not returning home or contacting anyone for a prolonged period. The CPD's Area Two Special Victims Unit is handling the case and they urge anyone with information about Kimbrough's whereabouts to contact their unit directly at 312-747-8274, in hopes that swift action can lead to a safe resolution.
While the community rallies to spread the word and local law enforcement continues its search, time is of the essence and the public's vigilance could be critical in bringing Kimbrough back to his family. Anyone with a tip is encouraged to step forward.
