A family from Bexar County's northwest side narrowly escaped as their home was engulfed in flames late Wednesday, officials reported. The blaze, which caused an estimated $200,000 in damage, started in the garage of the residence, located on the 8000 block of Dotted Palm.

Per KENS5, the fire broke out around 11:50 p.m., swiftly moving upstairs and into the attic, leaving a family without a home, the cause of the incident remains a mystery, as authorities continue to investigate.

The San Antonio Fire Department reported that upon their arrival, heavy fire was already bellowing from the garage. However, all residents were able to vacate the premises with no injuries.

This incident happened near Dotted Palm and Larsen Cavern, where, firefighters, were able to quickly get the situation under control and extinguish the fire, FOX San Antonio notes. Despite their swift response, the residents face displacement due to the heavy damage sustained by their home.
