San Francisco Resident Charged with Forgery and Identity Theft After Car Repair Leads to Illicit Find in ColmaSource: Google Street View

In a startling find during a routine vehicle service, a maintenance technician stumbled upon a treasure trove of illicit goods hidden within a customer's car. The Colma Police Department responded to the scene at a business located on the 700 block of Serramonte Boulevard after receiving a report of the discovery.

The cache included drug paraphernalia, an array of credit cards, and personal identification cards from multiple individuals. Officers sifted through the find, unearthing drivers licenses, social security cards, personal mail, and more, belonging to several victims. Some of the victims, reached by the authorities, confirmed their misfortune of theft and identity theft.

Police traced the car back to the person who had brought it in for repairs, who turned out to be the registered owner. Days later, when the owner came back to collect his vehicle, Colma officers were ready and waiting. The arrest was made without a complication, as Raymond Moore, a 74-year-old San Francisco resident, arrived at the business on Monday, 03/18/24 at around 11:10 am.

Upon searching Moore, officers found additional identification items on him, further cementing their case. Moore now faces charges including misappropriation of found property, forgery, and identity theft, according to a Colma Police Department statement. He has been booked into the San Mateo County Jail as the legal process churns into motion.
