A Smyrna man met a violent end when gunshots rang out at a South Nashville apartment complex, police sources report. The fatal shooting occurred around 9 p.m. Friday at the Cascade Apartments, located at 3300 Murfreesboro Pike. Metro Nashville Police found 23-year-old Vidal York dead from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the complex, according to FOX 17.

A second victim, a 19-year-old man thought to have arrived with York, sustained non-critical injuries in a shooting. He was transported to the hospital and later released, detailed The Tennessean. The shooter, still at large, is believed to have escaped the scene by car.
