A teenager's nightmarish encounter on a San Antonio highway left him in critical condition following a shooting incident. According to the San Antonio Police Department, the 19-year-old male was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in the 700 block of Interstate 35 Northbound after his vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier. The violence unfolded around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, disrupting the usual hum of night traffic.

Emergency services rushed to a scene, initially reported as a major accident on the upper level of IH 35 North, southbound. Officers from SAPD found the car, a White Hyundai Sedan, showing evidence of more than just a traffic mishap. The vehicle's passenger rear door was riddled with bullet holes. "The victim, a 19-year-old male, was shot multiple times and was seeking help from other drivers on the highway," KENS 5 reported.

Despite multiple calls pouring in about the traffic accident, SAPD said the calls quickly turned into reports of a shooting at the same location. When authorities arrived, they found the young man attempting to reach out to fellow motorists for assistance. His condition necessitated immediate medical attention, prompting his transport to a local hospital where he is currently fighting for his life.

"The man was trying to receive help from other people driving on the highway," KSAT reported. SAPD has not yet released further details on the shooter or the circumstances leading up to this violent act, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the wounded young man has not been disclosed to the public.
