
A teen was gunned down Friday night in an unincorporated area of Vista, authorities said, with San Diego County Sheriff's deputies scrambling to piece together the circumstances that led to the shooting.
The incident unfolded near the intersection of Smilax Road and Mimosa Avenue around 9:06 p.m., according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department; the young male victim was found shot and received immediate medical attention from the San Marcos and Vista Fire Departments before being whisked away to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
As of now, law enforcement officials have not provided any suspect description nor made any arrests, the search for the perpetrator continues while local residents are on edge after the violent occurrence in their community.
