The Broward County Sheriff's Office is intensifying efforts to find Marya Elbert, a 40-year-old woman reported missing since April 17 from Oakland Park, as concern for her safety grows due to her medical needs.
Elbert was last spotted near the 5700 block of North Dixie Highway, she is described as 5 feet tall, weighing 140 pounds with black hair and green eyes, sporting a distinct birthmark between her lip and nose on the right side of her face, and a nose piercing on the left side; last seen wearing jean shorts and an unknown color t-shirt, according to WSVN.
The concerns for her well-being are heightened by the fact that Elbert experiences mental illness and has unspecified health conditions which necessitate medication, her absence is particularly alarming given the time that has lapsed since she was last seen, BSO officials stated in desperation to get her the necessary help she requires.
Authorities are urging the public for assistance, anyone with information regarding Elbert's whereabouts is encouraged to contact BSO Detective Leonard Charla at 954-321-4274 or the BSO non-emergency number 954-764-HELP (4357), details shared by the Broward Sheriff's Office in a post on X.
