Clarksville Police Department has launched an investigation following an armed robbery at an Exxon Hi-Road Gas Station earlier this month. As reported by FOX 17, a man wielding a rifle threatened a store clerk during a heist just before 4:30 a.m. on May 1 at the station on Wilma Rudolph Blvd.
The encounter escalated into a struggle, leading to the clerk fleeing out the front door. After grabbing the cash drawer, the assailant fled towards Russellville Pike before entering a vehicle that was last seen heading south, detailed by authorities.
Police have described the suspect as a black male around 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds. They are currently reaching out to the public for assistance in apprehending the individual responsible for this crime. Main Street Clarksville conveyed the department's call for anyone with information or additional video evidence to step forward.
"After a brief struggle, the clerk ran out the front door," the Clarksville Police Department stated in a news release, noting that the suspect made off with the cash drawer subsequently.
