A Coral Springs homeless man found himself behind bars after he allegedly tried to burgle a work truck parked on Wiles Road, according to the local authorities. The incident, which took place early on May 15, involved 40-year-old Jean Valbrun, who was charged with burglary when he reportedly tried to make off with tools from the truck located at 7400 Wiles Road, TAPinto reported.
The truck's owner told police he witnessed Valbrun pulling at the truck handles around 7 a.m., but upon failing to gain entry, the suspect allegedly walked off which led the owner to contact the authorities; the police quickly located Valbrun a few blocks away on the same road and apprehended him, the authorities noted Valbrun's previous arrest record which helped in his identification, and during the questioning, Valbrun had first identified himself as "Bruce Lee," added the TAPinto report.
This attempted robbery adds to a growing list of vehicle-related crimes in Coral Springs, a string of car thefts has the local residents on edge, as reported by a Coral Springs news outlet on X. The authorities have not disclosed if the recent rise in auto thefts is connected to Valbrun’s attempted break-in, or if this portrays a broader crime trend in the area, the publication added.
