Thieves made a daring rooftop break-in attempt at a Miami jewelry store, but left empty-handed, police say. In the pre-dawn hours on Monday, at around 3:30 a.m., Miami police were summoned to Ashley Jewelry, located at 4561 NW 7th Street, following reports of a burglary in progress, as Local 10 News reported.
The suspects reportedly gained entry through a medical office adjoining the jeweler, creating a hole in the roof and subsequently a hole in the wall to infiltrate Ashley Jewelry, when the dawn had not yet broken and the plaza lay in a deep slumber the sort of quietude that shrouds Miami streets before the bustle of life begins, despite their elaborate scheme and the bold attempt, the would-be burglars didn't manage to purloin any of the store's valuables.
