It's time for the residents of Goulds to step into the spotlight and show some love for their hometown history. The Miami-Dade County Office of Historic Preservation is throwing open the doors to the second annual History Collaborative this Saturday, where folks can dish out their personal tales and preserve the precious past of Goulds.
The gathering, a joint effort by Stantec, the Miami-Dade Public Library System, and HistoryMiami Museum, isn't just a chinwag session, it's a chance to cement your family's legacy into the fabric of local lore, with all the chatting going down in the Miami Stories program recording booth – and the best part is your yarns, photos, and documents get the VIP treatment, entering into the Community Memory Project's digital hall of fame.
If you're itching to etch your mark on history or if you're just keen to keep the tales of Goulds' landmarks alive for the kids and grandkids to come, then scoot on over to the South Dade Regional Library's 2nd Floor Auditorium at 10750 SW 211th Street, Cutler Bay, FL 33189, from 10 in the morning till 2 in the afternoon.
Be there or be square, and who knows, if you drag your feet you might just miss out on one of the free History Miami Museum Passes they're dishing out to the early birds – only the first 50 history buffs will snag 'em. For the curious cats looking to sniff out more details or to throw in their two cents ahead of time, shoot an email over to [email protected] or check the announcement for the full lowdown.
