The "Jenny from the Block" singer pulled the plug on her upcoming summer tour called "THIS IS ME...LIVE," which will leave fans from Chicago to Orlando singing the blues, according to her website. Fans were gearing up for a 32-stop juggernaut, including a stint at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont on July 26, only to be left hanging as J.Lo cited personal reasons for the scrubbed shows.
She is heartbroken and devastated to have to share this news, Lopez said in a heartfelt message to her supporters. The need to be with her children, family, and close friends was echoed by representatives for Live Nation, the company promoting the tour. For the ticket-holding faithful who were looking forward to the summer concerts, refunds should be a breeze for those who went through Ticketmaster, while third-party purchasers will have to wade through customer service to reclaim their bucks.
But the cancellation isn't the only buzzkill. Variety reports that J.Lo has also axed several shows slated for late August, including stops in Cleveland, Nashville, Raleigh, and a handful of southern hot spots. It appears that weak ticket sales may have led to this decision, with Ticketmaster's sea of blue seats outnumbering the grey across multiple venues. However, it's not all doom and gloom for Lopez's live act, as three additional shows in Miami, Toronto, and her stomping grounds, New York, successfully squeezed into the lineup.
Fans of the A-lister, who were ready to groove to classics and new hits from her album "This Is Me... Now" and its accompanying films, will, unfortunately, have to wait for another opportunity to see Lopez in action. She promised she'd make it up to them, saying, "I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time...," a sentiment that is sure to be small consolation for those who had circled dates on their calendars. Despite this setback, rest assured, Lopez's star isn't likely to dim anytime soon, even if some of the house lights at her would-be concerts will.
