Chaos erupted at a Murfreesboro gas station yesterday afternoon when a disagreement turned deadly, leaving one man dead and another injured. The Murfreesboro Police Department reported to WKRN that the shooting occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. at the 7-Eleven/Exxon on Joe B. Jackson Parkway. Officers discovered two men with gunshot wounds, one of whom suffered multiple injuries and later died.
The initial investigation suggested a mechanical issue had caused 26-year-old Juan Charco and his brother to briefly stop at the station in their black Ford F-150, which was towing a Chrysler 200. As they worked to remove the Chrysler from its trailer, two other men arrived in a silver Mercedes. It didn't take long for an argument to escalate, and shots were quickly fired. In a desperate attempt to fully protect himself, the man who took a bullet to the arm ran to find refuge inside the business and was later reported as stable in the hospital, as per investigators cited by WKRN.
Following the shootout, Charco and his brother were detained and questioned by the authorities. After further investigation, Charco faced charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder, as reported by NewsChannel 5. His brother, whose name has not been released, was interviewed and subsequently released, although police hint that additional charges may be pending.
